Ultimate Blog Party

Ultimate Blog Party 2012

Welcome to Thankful Bunch.  My name is Sara.  I love my life with my husband and 4 kids!  My two littlest are adopted, and my oldest is getting ready to go to college.  We are a homeschooling family as well.  We try to follow God in all we do.  The topics I love to write about are family, adoption, everyday blessings, orphans, giving, God's story for our lives, homeschool, etc. One of our focuses as a family this year is sharing the gifts God has given us with others.  We call it Scattered Gifts.  I have been feeling challenged lately that we need to dig deeper and give even more.  You can read about our Scattered Gifts monthly projects here.  I will be posting on our April project in a couple of days.  (We've had Easter, tummy bug, standardized testing, etc. all this week, so I'm a little behind in posting.)

A couple of notes about me:

*I start each day with a cup of tea.
*My favorite food is rhubarb.
*I love Spring.
*I love thrift stores.
*I'm an all or nothing kind of person.  I tend to jump into my plans.  Luckily, my husband slows me down.
*I don't live close to family, and I miss them terribly.  Soon my son will be off to college half way across the country.  I don't know how to reconcile these feelings of aching to be close to my family while God has me far away.
*I know God loves me, and I trust he has me in the best place.
*I pray to be faithful in all God has given me, and I hope to use my mistakes to teach my kids more about God or rather that God can use them.

That's about it for now.  I'm off to check on my husband who is the current one down with the tummy bug.

  3. Hi there! I'm also from UBP and thought I would stop in to say Hi!

Oh, that tummy bug is miserable! My children and I are just getting over that. Thankfully my own hubby hasn't got it, yet, and it seems like he'll be missed.

    God bless you and yours,
    Emily

  4. Hi Sara--what a lovely blog. I like your colors and graphics (background, etc.). I've never met anyone whose favorite food was rhubarb! I like it too, but most people I meet don't like it or have never had it. Yes, I remember that stage when my children first left home...tough transitions for our mother's heart. I found you on UBP. If you want to meet me, my UBP story is here: http://biblelovenotes.blogspot.com/p/ultimate-blog-party.html
God bless you and your blogging.

    1. The name of their organization is African Vision of Hope. I don't think they blog, but they do post a lot to Facebook. Another organization we have been involved with that is starting a school this fall is Gems Girls Club, www.gemsgc.org.
